A step by step guide into the making of a custom made mattress.

 

The open spring unit.

In order to provide optimum comfort and sufficient longevity are custom made mattresses always use a high grade open spring unit clipped together and shaped to the required size.
The spring insulator

A mix of bonded cotton and felt provides a barrier between the spring unit and the subsequent layers. On the Supreme mattress the insulator layer is upgraded to horse hair on hessian.
Fillings
Second & third layers of a custom made mattress
A comfort layer is added using bonded cotton and Vitafill. On the Supreme custom made mattress the fillings are upgraded to Grade ‘A’ Horse hair and organic lambswool.
Lambs Wool
Lambs wool, luxury high end natural English fibres
The natural option used in the Supreme custom made mattress
Horse Hair
Natural Horse Hair for a high end luxury mattress
The finest Grade ‘A’ Horse hair used in the Supreme custom made mattress.
Ticking
Natural Fibre, Cotton Ticking
We use finest quality cotton ticking in a choice of black & white or cream, we can also use customer supplied fabric.
Sewing

Tufting
